Kansas Bob’s post, On Life Space, & Priorities, he posted the story of an astronaut who was space-walking when his daughter was born (back on Earth). Bob commented,

“...I wonder how often the rest of us miss important life events because of work or other seemingly important things.”

When I finished my medical degree, I didn’t go into specialty training because I was burnt out from the many years of school. What I said would be just 2 years has already become 4 years and counting. I could be a specialist by now.

I would have missed out on many family vacations, opportunities to travel and most importantly, I wouldn’t have found myself and gained back my confidence.

is it really worth it? Wouldn’t it have been better if I had been ambitious and pursued my degree and submitted myself to the anxiety and stress of specialty training and end up financially independent but maybe insecure and unhappy. But i’ll never know.

This weekend, I’ll be taking the licensure exam of my 3rd bachelor’s degree. A course I think I took to have a reason to gain time for myself... And then what? There are times that I secretly wish I won’t pass coz that would buy me another year. But I’m not getting any younger and eventually I’ll have to move forward.

“'s only by looking back that we can point out exactly when that wrong turn took place or when you correctly chose the right direction. I now realize some things - some were choices, some were events, some were people - that would determine what I am now [Intersections & Detours].”

I don’t want anymore regrets. I’ve filled what should have been the carefree years of my life with regrets. And now, when I should be a bit more responsible, I’m being carefree.

Diana Ross sang it best:
Do you know where you’re goin’ to?
Do you like the things that life is showin’ you?
Where are you goin’ to? Do you know?
