My neighbor turned me onto them and I got hooked. unfortunately she could only find the third book and so I started three books into the story. now that I'm done I started Reading the books I missed, and I realized something. when you reread a series, knowing whats going to happen, you understand way more and its really fun that way. I think I might reread the entire series. about three fourths of the way through sot I started on WoT and finished it. those books too were amazing. I need new books now cause I'm real picky about what I read. any hints or suggestions?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7767464070473675652.post-2391221132487906822008-04-10T23:30:00.000+08:002008-04-10T23:30:00.000+08:00I guess it's a matter of preference... i think the...I guess it's a matter of preference... i think the WOT is good but having to reread some paragraphs over kinda destroys the moment for me. rarely had to do that with SOT... i mean i could easily recall details few chapters or even books back :)

How I wish i had easy access to audiobooks... i've just started with what i could get - the Harry potter series. I didn't read the books coz i think its for kids. But listening to it is a whole new thing. Hope to find WOT audio books.. and SOT audio books for that matter. I wouldn't mind having to go through that series again.

What book are you in now?Rygelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929204861130334663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7767464070473675652.post-36175946769692806712008-04-10T08:11:00.000+08:002008-04-10T08:11:00.000+08:00Sorry about that its been so long sense I used blo...Sorry about that its been so long sense I used blogger that I forgot my login info and didn't even think about leaving my contact info. my email is smorrison@huskers.com

As far as getting into WoT yea my first time through, and really the subsequent times, (I'm a big loser I have reread this way to many times) I have to push my way through the whole first book really. It takes a bit to take off but it gets really good. As the characters and world builds one of my favorite things is the dynamic between women and men. This is probably just a personal thing because my wife is a strong woman and Jordan seems to place allot of respect in strong women.

The main reason I am able to go through it over and over and not lose interest over the rereads is that Jordan is SOO complex. Like you mentioned some paragraphs need to be reread for the understanding. Well in every reread of the books I find something new.

Something that I do sometimes when I just want the good story and don't have time to read I have copied the Audio CD's (they are at my library) onto my iPod and just listen to it while I work out or what ever.

PS: This is my first run through SoT and I am only about half way through the first book but I love it so far. I have had friends tell me for years to read it and I have just never had the time so I am working on making it now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7767464070473675652.post-65818065370688723872008-04-10T07:41:00.000+08:002008-04-10T07:41:00.000+08:00Anonymous: I wish you could have left your email o...Anonymous: I wish you could have left your email or blog so we could trade notes :) I actually started reading the Wheel of Time. I think I made it up to the 3rd book. There are many similarities with both series and i couldn't help but think that the SOT copied some ideas (just an impression). My problem with the WOT is it took more effort for me to read it... unlike SOT which was effortless to "get into", the WOT language needed more instances where I had to reread some parts so I could understand. I agree that the characters are unique & interesting . Maybe i'll give it another go sometime :) Thanks for the suggestionRygelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929204861130334663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7767464070473675652.post-89010848886086667092008-04-09T23:16:00.000+08:002008-04-09T23:16:00.000+08:00If you are reading Sword of Truth then I am sure m...If you are reading Sword of Truth then I am sure my sugestion for another book that will make you "fly again" may have already been tried but here it goes any way. I feel in love with the characters and world in The Wheel of Time series by the late Robert Jordan before I read the Sword of Truth and it is what actually opened me up to Goodkind. If you haven't already read them I would strongly suggest them as they have that same writing feel and flow. I have made this and the opposite suggestion to people before and ran into die hard fan boys that say one is far superior to the other but I say if you leave yourself open you will find new "friends" like those in the books we love.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7767464070473675652.post-68307066832018047902007-12-16T18:35:00.000+08:002007-12-16T18:35:00.000+08:00and i still haven't started faith of the fallen......and i still haven't started faith of the fallen... so many things to do so little time! :)h.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17734482440723611466noreply@blogger.com
